HISTORY

Juan y Vicente Varela

The Sarandí Group is, at present, comprised of a set of companies that perform activities in several business areas. Its main interest consists in distributing manufactured paper, mostly for Graphical Industries, while stationery articles supply comes in second place regarding business revenue.

The foundation of Sarandí Group dates back from 1951, when brothers Juan and Vicente Varela created a Limited Company aiming at satisfying -through buying and selling paper- the needs of the then already quite active Graphic Industry. The constant growth of the company turned it into a Corporation by 1956, allowing its successful and firm placing in local markets.

From then on, and due to a constantly increasing need of supplying additional goods for Graphical Industries, the Stationery Division came to life in 1965. This new business activity grew rapidly until acquiring a key importance among the company's activities; the catalogue today handles some 4,000 different articles.

At present, Sarandí Group is the exclusive representative for the Argentine Republic of several product lines, such as Inoxcrom (since 1978), Dunson, SDI and Beautone, among others.

The strength and power of the Paper Division has root in the fact that -along with other two companies from the Group, Varcent and Convenor- is the biggest Latin American distributor for paper, cardboards and pasteboards for Graphical Industries. It is connected to both local and international suppliers, therefore offering an excellent quality service to more than 5,000 customers across all markets.
